ERP > Inventory and StocksCategories
In this section, we will see how to create, edit, and delete categories. Products must belong to a category, so before creating a product, we must have the categories created.
In the main panel, on the left side menu, within the Product option, you can find the category option. First of all, you must select the corresponding company if you have more than one company created.
In the main view of categories, you will see a list of all the created categories and their details, whether they are subcategories or parent categories.
In the upper left part, you will find the option to create a new category. Once you click on this option, a pop-up window will appear with the necessary fields to create a category.
Remember, as with all options in our ERP, you can import categories if you already have them through a CSV file. The system also gives you a sample of what this file should look like.
The category option is very simple; it asks for the name, and optionally, the possibility to upload an image that represents the category, and a drop-down menu that allows you to assign a parent category to this category or simply make the category you are creating a parent category.
To assign a parent category, there must already be an existing category to which it can be assigned, as you can see in our case, this is the first category we are creating.
In our case, the image does not appear because we have not assigned any image.
Once the category is created, it will appear in the main view. In the right drop-down menu, in the category, we can edit if we want to make any changes or we can delete the category.
We upload an image, and then we are going to create a "child" category and assign it a parent category.
In the main view, we can see the created categories and if they correspond to a superior category. In the main view of the category section, we can observe data such as how many products have a category assigned and their total value.
